Drive-In Sci-Fi: Revenge Of The Creature (1955)

A sequel to the Creature From The Black Lagoon (1954) that i have reviewed earlier.
The ship in the first one was called "RITA", now RITA II shows up at the black lagoon with the same survivors and few new ones and are out to catch him this time. This time its only 5 men crew, the old captain Lucas, two local helpers and twomarine biologists. SO theres less showing off and more talking, at least some better dialogue.
They soon meet the creature and attack it but they dont siceed in killing him like that this time either. So they decide to stun it with dinamite. Yeah because that certainly works every time. The creature gets into coma and they transport it back to new york. Because that worked for king kong. They soon nickname it "the gill man".
The creature wakes up in a completely unsafe aquarium and starts panicking. The flashing photographers dont help. and he manages to jump out of it and starts wrecking havoc. However they manage to catch him up again and put him into a much alrger and safer tank.
They decide to start training him, with pepel in the water with him, a monster that killed at least 5 people already. They also run variuos tests on itm but generally they dont try to harm him.
Eventually the creature falls in love with the girl, tries to kidnap her and in the process almsot kilsl her and her boyfriend. The creature gets angry and breakes loose, starts throwing people off and escapes.
After he escapes, he starts stalking the girl, who just so happens to go on a boat trip. Eventually he kidnaps the girl again and the boy goes off to rescue again. He fails. They send out a search party and eventually catch up with where the creature is.

Story: 7/10. The story was ok, but nothing spectacular.
Acting: 9/10. Acting was very well done in this one.
Sound: 4/10. Usually bad, but a bit better this time.
Sci factor: 6/10. The creature can swim with cain on his legs, and other small inconsistencies.
Lasting Appeal: 4/10. Its just king kong but with creature from the black lagoon.
Overall rating: 6/10
