Drive in Sci-Fi: Tarantula (1955) Tarantulamovieposter2

The movie starts with wolfman dieing in desert. how is wolfman related to tarantulas? only after that scene wesee the credits roll too. From the first moment we can see there are no background music. this gives film an eerie feeling compared to the rest and is heathy on my ears so its a plus.
A new doctor arrives in a desert city and is immediately called into sherifs office. what luck he had. they found a dead man that they think is a citizen of the town, but they are not sure because of how diseased he looks. we dont get to see it though, ugh. he argues with the old do about what it could be and they end up disagreeing. then we see some professor do some wierd research in his lab. i can see where this is going. we get to see some guant spiders and rats in his lab. and when i say giant i mean a hamster the size of human. and its only after 10 days of experimenting too. then the wold man comes into his lab and attacks him. though this time it looks closer to a diseased person than wolfman. the professor wins the fight but a guant spoder escapes. here we go.
the prof buries him, probably one of the rare times we acutally see what people in movies do with the bodies. the sheriff doesnt seem to be concerned at all about it, so were lucky theres a snoppy journalist that gangs up with the young doctor.
They find nothing so instead they decide to help the doctor who manadges to tell them a story that hes making cheap food to feed the world.
So the young doc with his girlfriend goes to visit landscape in the desert and almost gets killed by a rockslide. after that the tarantula eats a lot of cows and the doc gets called in again. Mean while the professor starts to turn into a monster. When the doc omes to him he explains that its the nutrien that caused this on human ad then goes rambling how he failed his experiment, how he was attacked by his helped and injected with the nutrien, how he will die in 4 days till he faints.
After that we see the tarantula go on a rampage agaist electricity cables and hillbillies. by the time army, or rather, state police, comes and tries to blow him up with explosives it has grown as big as a mountain. it doesnt work obviuosly. napalm works, good that thep lanes had it. the tarantula dies.

Story: 7/10. Pretty well developed.
Acting: 6/10. Could have been better, but its not bad.
Sound: 4/10. sitll populated by bad music, but less of it so its good.
Sci factor: 4/10. not sure about nutrient but tarantula surely couldnt survive that big. it wanst all total nonesense though.
Lasting Appeal: 4/10. another incest on the loose movie, but with a sort of moral example too.
Overall rating: 5/10.
