Drive-In Sci-Fi: The Gamma People (1956) Gamma+People+01

A train wagon gets off the train and rides off into soviet germany. meanwhile two westerners are onboard and dont notice anything. what a ridiculously amazing start of the plot. its actually "Gudavia", a "kingdom of democracy of Gudavia". The american and brit gets met by a military force and is escorted into the jail cell.
The scientist of Gudavia frees them and now they are official guests of the country. they see some strange things going around here. They also meet some... zombies or what appears to be like them, but their not aggressive. His friend doesnt believe him.
The next day the scientist invite them into his castle and shows his "education" of forcing kids to labour. From a local they also find out that the doctor is doing some experiments with gamma rays. Apparently hes turning the kids into henchmen. The doctor finds out that they find out. theres also a little girl to save. crazy stuff happens. the fight, get trapped, doctor gives a long speech, get rescued, all the usual formula. oh and they set the castle on fire too.

Story: 5/10. as ridiculous as it is, it was interesting and unusual enough.
Acting: 4/10. Pretty good performances from the kids. the doctor was a bit over the top with his facial expressions. but its not a wonder either.
Sound: 1/10. tidi tidi tidi nanana for 80 minutes.
Sci factor: 1/10. gamma rays fries your brains.
Lasting Appeal: 3/10. unsusual. ill give you that. but also very dark and fuzzy.
Overall rating: 3/10.
