Drive in Sci Fi: Night of the Demon (1957) Nightofthedemonmoviepos

Night of the demon, know in US as Curse of the demon. However the US version is heavily cut for American censors are showing their lack of brainpower again.
"It is said there are demons in hell. It is also said that Stonehenge can call the demons back to earth" and it is also said that bad narration breaks the movie, but doesn't seem that he cares.
A man comes to some house saying he will do whatever the guy wants if he calls something off. he agrees, but that night a demon, an actually scary monster in the 60s, which is rare, shows up. Running from it he accidentally gets entangled in electric wire and dies.
A psychologist who was a friend comes to a convention of scientists and gets informed about it all. his assistant want to work with the new psychologist that arrived, and to continue the investigation. the man that send the demon is supposed to be some devil cult leader, and is now claiming he wants to be left alone. the new psychologist do the same mistake the previuos did - investigate him. he goes to a library to research some demonology and they quickly notice there are some books missing in the library. he meets coswell, the "evil cult leader". he slips him a card that seems to have disappearing ink. Then his niece shows up and gives him the guys diary. it tells of how Coswell is also the devil incarnate and how he gave him a rune that killed him. he of course doesn't believe it.
Him and his niece goes to that guys house the next morning. He shows some tricks, throws a party and tells he he will die in 3 days. The girl believes him, the psychologist doesn't. and they keep arguing about it. but the signs start appearing. He did have his calendar torn after the date hes going to die. eventually he finds a parchment and the parchment seems to have a mind on his own. He continues his investigation and the locals find out he has parchment given to him, and they already know he will die.
The girl organizes a medium sense and it looks like comedic. turns out comedic in the end and he leaves. though supposedly one of the voices were that of dead psychologist. They decide to go to his house instead to see search for a translation to an ancient text that would help convincing him that demons exist.
He catches him as well as his cat bits him. You know this movie only did one thing wrong, and that is show the demon really existed in the opening scene. there are other movies that manage to keep that suspense without letting you know whether demon is real or not. this one kills all the tension by allowing us, viewers, know that it is real, so the scepticism of the character is harder to associate with. the guy tries to return back to his car via woods and is chased by fireball. or rather its a ball of smoke, but i guess it was used as a fireball. They go to police station. but they obliviously don't believe him.
Then ext day he decides to experiment with hypnosis and a guy that supposedly saw the demon. They demonstrate this to a large audience of scientists. he tells tem he must return parchment back and then kills himself.
The guy confronts Coswell inside a train and then he eventually manage to pass back the parchment. This leads to Coswells death by train running him over.

Story: 9/10. would have been great if it wasnt for the demon at the beginning.
Acting: 8/10. well done by all major actors.
Sound: 6/10. definitely tries different and better than most.
Sci factor: 7/10. not as much science as magic, but it was played well.
Lasting Appeal: 10/10. definitely worth remembering, loved the feeling.
Overall rating: 8.
