Drive in Sci-Fi: Beast From The Haunted Cave (1959)

Two thieves and their bosses talk a ski guard into taking them into his lodge in the mountains, apparently they found a gold mine in the mountains and want to clean that. The guard, of course, doesn't know it.
Meanwhile a couple of drunk people find the abandoned gold mine and enter it. somehow it is still well lit even if it is closed and abandoned. Apparently he is also with the mafia since he sets up a bomb that looks like alarm clock. And...something attacks them. back to the bar we go. Next morning the bomb blow up and kills a guy looking in (who was he there?) while the alpinists see the cabin in the mountains even though it is a "2 days travel". Other thieves use the explosion rumble and rob a bank. the bank is deserted and the pile of gold is kept behind a merely locked door. that's one bank i want to rob too.
They all join the ski guard and go on a trip to the cabin, a nice way to evade police. They reach a cabin but the mountain boy thinks someone is following them so he is on his toes. They hear news about the robbery over the radio and find out the guy was killed. they also find out that there is a storm coming and their pick-up plane isn't landing tomorrow. So the girl kisses the mountain boy and the mafia boss hits the guy for it. strange times those were.
The monster attacks them, few times, but they manage to fend him away. Since two people are out in the nearby cave they ignore the monsters danger and go search for them. Of Course the monster has made the cave its home. we see a very bad monster attack and then him sucking people up. its a giant spider monster or what? Looks like a guitarist form a metal band anyway. They eventually finish him with a flare gun.


Story: 5/10. Simple but works.
Acting: 2/10. Nothing great there
Sound: 6/10. Better than usual this time.
Sci factor: 0/10. Metal guitarists make bad monsters.
Lasting Appeal: 0/10. This one really didnt strike me as anything new.
Overall rating: 3/10.
