Drive-in Sci-Fi: 4D Man (1959) 4dman1959poster

The movie starts with a very poor naration of a scientist trying to force steel inside steel by some machine that bursts into flames and the whoel building gets swollowed in matter of minutes. the cheif scientist gives him a speach about how he messes everything up and thne he goes to military where his brother lives. it is worth mentioning that this movie is in color, which is a rare break from the usual black and white 60s b-movies.
The two brothers and a girl has soem fun in the yard that seems to have nothing to do with a movie other than to show that the first scientist is really upset about something other two cant figure out. well hello, his lab has burned, his lifes work destroyed, and they dont understand why he is upset?
after that we see a party where they congratulate the second scientist, Tony, for inventing carbonite - a fire/cold/acid/bomb proof material for ultimate defence. and then Tony, the fist scientist, shows a pencil wielded into a piece of steel and talks the other guy into believing its possible to go though carbonite too. and the piece is really good too, so far this movie doesnt seem like b-grade that much.
We find out that Scot has "unusualy high brain impulses". how convienient. thenhe visits one of the lab asisstants and we get a scene where the woman tells her daughter she drinks too much water. what the hell? whatever happened to water is life? anyway the guy continues his experiments and suceeds again, this time more thna ap encil in steel, is whole hand is stuck inside it.
They try it out together and it works, Scot leaves the labaratory and goeso n a rampage with his body going through walls. we get some wierd jazz music as he robs a bank. The next morning he accidentally kills assistant by touching him. Obviusly he hides the fact. from what we can gather, the wy i understand is that he sucked the life out of him and the guy died of old age, tohugh they odnt directly say that. however the guy gets old and Scot gets younger so logic of age-vampire persists.
The guy then gets mad and goes on a rampage of killing, stealing and kidnapping. After that police starts to attempt to catch him, but he just make them all die of old age. Eventually the assistant lures him in and talks him to get himself out of 4d, then shoots him. he goes mad and gives a speach about being invinible. thne goes and dies inside carbonite

Story: 8/10. Got to give it to them it is a pretty decently made one.
Acting: 7/10. Though nto best it is pretty good.
Sound: 6/10. A great improvement over the old one-sound-for-all-moods music.
Sci factor: 1/10. very little science very much fiction. the whole walking though walls thing is just ridiculous.
Lasting Appeal: 8/10. Definatelly one of a kind movie, this i will surely remember.
Overall rating: 7/10.
