Drive in Sci-Fi: Return Of the Fly (1959) Returnofthetheflymoviep

Im sure everyone knows about David Cronenberg's The Fly. Well it is a remake of 1958s The Fly. But were not here to talk about The Fly. were here to talk about its Sequel - Return of the Fly.
The movie opens with a monologue if the scientists brother, burring some woman in the grave. We later find out it was the originals Fly wife. There is also another guy, which happens to be the doctors Son. He tells the son what really happened. He even shows the lab and explains how it happened. The uncle wants to leave and never return, but the son wants to rebuild the experiment. For the glory of his father. He promises not to be careless. They have an argument and the uncle leaves.
The next day The kid already lures a friend over to his research from his uncle. His parents house is a mansion. and the uncle says he cant afford the experiments, riiight. He decides to continue the work in the mansion instead of the lab. Its remote and isolated. its a good idea. Then they spot a fly and are terrified by it. Well the uncle also joins them, though he is sort of hold ransom for that. the kid promises to destroy his business if he wont. so help probably wont be very effective help.
We also find out that the assistant is a thief trying to steal the project and sell it.
Eventually they succeed in rebuilding the machine. They transform ashtray - success. They transform Guinea Pig - success. They disintegrate Guinea pig hoping to reintegrate it tomorrow to test the effects of long term disintegration. And instead of celebrating success they go to sleep. The thief returns and copies a blueprint. Why does blueprints always have to be blue. i understand its in the name, but why blue? why cant they be black and white? or on green background? or whatever?
A cop finds him, he hits the cop and disintegrates it. Then he reintegrates it and its a half pig half cop. interesting. The thief hides it in its own car and drives it to meet his dealmaker. He also gets rid of the car, finally a thief who is smart. Well the kid finds out about his plans. and they get into a fight. the fight ends up in the kid inside a disintegration chamber. Thief disintegrates him together with a fly that just happens to be around. The uncle comes in right at the correct time. But the thief has already bailed with the blueprints and Uncles car. He also shoots the old man while escaping.
He lives however and comes back to reintegrate the fight looser. He returns as the fly man. Looks like humans and fly DNA is very compatible. it is changed much more than the Guinea pig changed. This time however it is the uncle that faints, when it is usually the girl. The guy runs, and you can see him correcting his fly mask while at it. The fly ends up being two things as well. there is also a tiny fly who speaks human. but the cop almost faints after seeing that.
The fly manages to get into some sort of truck and gets away from cops. Now we got a fly on the loose. The fly attacks the crook that made the deals actually. Then back at the basement we see the real guy in flies body being trapped in the guinea pigs house. Eventually the flyman returns and they convert them back to what they were before.

Story: 7/10. pretty good for a sequel.
Acting: 5/10. one one hand you have vincent price, on the other few quite bad actors.
Sound: 2/10. still bad.
Sci factor: 8/10. Well it worked well and to the source material.
Lasting Appeal: 8/10. Its a worthy sequel.
Overall rating: 6/10.
