Drive in Sci-Fi: The Land Unknown (1957)

There is a large warm osasis in antarctica and for the last 130 years noone bothered to check it out, so now their sending an expedition. nice historical turn there but no visitors in 130 years? come on. And as always there is one woman in the 800 men expedition. They dont go winthout training. their traning is a movie of previuos expedition, including the warm pocket. the journey there is quite a story on itself, and you can smell high budged, sometihng quite rare for 50s sci-fi.
The helicopter form the expedition encounters a storm and tries to go though it to have enough fuel. base told thme nto to but they do it anyway. a terodactile comes and attacsk the helicopter.
they do emergency landing in bellow sea level area which is of course very warm. they land inside a volcano that is full of trees and other tropical stuff. oh and did i mention DINOSAURS? oh yeah and alive plants who has tenticles. this age is million of years behind beause the iceage didint occur here so evolution didnt work its course. right. this looks more and more like The Lost World all over again, except with a helicopter. They stay there for a 5 day and already are filled with gloomy thoughts. they find an nice monkey that seems to be human ancestor. the monkey gets eaten by a plan while the girl is kidnapped by a human. woot humans.
They meet that human and hes a bitter surviver that wants to take the woman for himself and tells them to go away. but they all leave together and leave him alone again. they try to find parts to fix their helicopter but to no sucess. so the girl goes to the caveman voulanterely. The guys dont agree and overpower him. then torture to get answers. When that doesnt work they manadge to chat him into helping them and he gives the needed aprt to them, well, the map to the part. they find it but the battery is gone. They fix that somehow and the survivor from before brings the girl to them. after they load her to a helicopter he leaves and while at it gets attacked by a dinosaur. the mosnter finally outsmarted him. the helicopter crew isaves the day with their metal beast and gets back to carrier just when their about to leave. but they crash into water just before the landing due to lack of fuel. they all swim out of after a crash though. happy ending wathing sunset, yay.

Story: 8/10. it was all sound except for some silly decisions.
Acting: 9/10. superb performance in there.
Sound: 5/10. this was the weak point of the movie.
Sci factor: 9/10. volcano can cause warm climate around it, evolution stopping in place like this is no problem and if not the historical problem at the begining it wouls have been one of the most logical movies.
Lasting Appeal: 7/10. the lost world in modern way.
Overall rating: 8/10.
