Drive-in Sci-Fi: The Phantom From 10.000 Leagues (1955) Phantomfrom10000leagues

Fisherman catches a monster with a fishing net and the mosnter kills him. thats a good start. except that the monster looks like a badly damadges child of godzila. actually the monster drowns him and then the screen fades to black so we dont actually know that th guy is dead till later. Ok why is it a phantom and why it is from 10.000 leagues? this makes no sense. Then you see guy with boots in seawater jsut walking around, and isntantly some departament of defence finds a body with burns. The Master Scientist was the guy with with boots in water. doesnt look like hes that smart after all. His daughter points out that hes soaking wet, captain obviuos. the guy is paranoid though. he thinks that everyone is spying on him and pretends to go to sleep. and then suddenly dissapears form his room. ok what the hell is going on in this movie, i though it was about a phantom, oh wiat maybe the scientist is the phantom as he knows how to dissapear. bounce
it looks as if everoyne is either gorvenment agent or a spy though and them ovie quickly sets in motion with everyone finding out that the boat is iradiated. noone ever knocks there wihch leads to everyone finding everyone doing something fishy Smile we see doctor make a regualr turtle into yet another monster thanks to his device. then he go diving and say hi to the monster and weapon he has hidden in the sea. looks like the poor doctor dont suspect the creature could kill. the creature however is very slow so thers ntohing to fear unless you ask for it. oh wait it was the government or spy agent. i dont really know anymore. im lost ,they all look the same in this one.
Eventually the agent confronts the doctor with his finding and thanks to unlucky phone call he finds out the scientist created it, yet the scientist still denies it. the secretary sells out and provides the spy or government some information which we are not given. well at least they didnt make up some ridiculous story. so the guy asks for lock print, thus im guessing its the spy afterall. the government then dives in for whatever reason and the monster lurks behind them til levenrtually flips their boat and kills them. the daughter and the spy is walking down the beach during the night and finds the bodies, while the assistant of good old scientist tries to harpoon the spy and misses. wow why does there have to be such a maze of characters in here. confused
No, wait, we hear two government agents talking that they still are going to dive. so who did we saw diving before? random people? why? well they dive, get attacked by the monster, shoot at it and then make a run for it. first time the victism at least try to run away, though it seems that they swim in cycles a little bit before making it to the shore. the spy figures out the lady is talking and harpoons her. this time he learnt his lesson and doesnt miss. The police soon figures out who did it. but the doctor still refuse to destroy the experiment. he asks for some time to figure it out and realize that it is bad. bout time after 5 people are dead dont you think? The doc destroys everything in his lab then go diving and blows everything to hell and die himself in the process. thne we get a speech of how scientists should pay for their mistakes. finally the mess is over.

Story: 3/10. terrible terrible mess, but at least it tried to be smart.
Acting: 5/10. That was ok actually. rarely to see such in 50s flicks
Sound: 2/10. Well terrible as always, though not that annoying. maybe im jut getting dull.
Sci factor: 3/10. They seem to deliverately avoid every scientific question about it. and there were so many plotholes i couldnt even count.
Lasting Appeal: 3/10. will likely to remember as one of the most confusing movies ive seen.
Overall rating: 3/10.
