Drive in Sci-Fi: Them! (1954)

The movie stsrtas with two officers in new mexico driving around desert and finding girl who suffers from shock. they also find her cabin, badly molested. the cop from the look manadges to determine exact hour the blood was spilt. Then we get to a store, equally anihilated, must be recent, lamps are still swinging. Infact, they never stop swinging. This time they find the owner, dead. They call in a zoologist and tadadada, he takes his daughter with him. They seem to know what is going on and goes into desert to what else, meet a giant ant. It appears once again atom bomb tests is the cause. they mare a run for it before more comes though. they go on search in planes and the good doctor acts really funny there, at least the time doesnt see that long while they fly. they find the nest eventually. They instantly get a "demo map". I also find it unreasonable that scientist want to kill it right away. they then decide to keep the heat up so ants wont go out with shooting bazookas into the nest. a signle load bazooka can shoot 5 times you know. As always the woman tries to act hero and go inside the cave. they investigate the nest to find all the ants dead, but two eggs hach and escape. and they happen to be queens. so the chase begins as they try to find where they could have flown. They Find them, one of them inside Los Angeles. They charge in to save some kids instead of torching the ants. Obviuosly, nothing gets according to plan.

Story: 7/10. well it wasnt typical with all the chasing of the ants.
Acting: 6/10. deserves a bonus just for the last scene.
Sound: 1/10.
Sci factor: 5/10. they did good on ants, but bad on everything else.
Lasting Appeal: 2/10. Supersized ants... right....
