Drive-in Sci-Fi: Devil Girl From Mars (1954) Devilgirlfrommarsposter

Apperently an alien craft that can travel between places gets lost in earths fog and lands in looms of scotland. The cover story is, obviuosly, meteor. then we get to meet all the characters of the local inn. a nice waitress, an old always-angry woman that i guess is the owner, whi takes care of a kid, old man that seems to remind me of Igor, an escaped prisoner, couple of lost scientists searching for the so called asteroid and a landlords daughter who everyone flirts with (she seems to be a total b***h though). Perfect bunch for an alient attack. So a spaceship lands near the inn. then you see them trying to figure out what it is and shouting into a telephone for 10 minutes till he finds out its out of order. Oh come on how long can this escaped prisoner drama last show the darn alien that jsut landed. it seems that its the least of their worries now. come on its a freaking alient craft.
Eventually female alien comes out together with a robot. Its worth mentioning that it was a real robot. they built it for the set and it was fully functioning. despite the mechanical failures during the filming they kept going with the real deal. And she has a raygun. Back in the inn the scientists notice that the waitress is hypnotized and evnetually talk with the alien. She came here to to take human men to replace them with the dieing ones in their planet. The war of sexes eventually destroyed all of them on mars. great plot, they kill all thier men then come to earth to steal more. though everything happens in small inn so the set was pretty cheap for them. so the alien leaves after making it clear that all she wanted here was to scare them and wait till her ship recovers and she can get to london. they soon makes the plan to shoot the alien. That doesnt stop her though. so she decides to prove them that violencei sn to the way. what? just a minute ago she treatened to nuke London. She shows them the power, then... nothing happens. eventually the robot turns tree into ashes. i could have outran that snow of a firepower.then ge removes car and shed the same way. then she discovers the kid and lures him into her spaceship while the other are bickering whether this is real or not. then she lures the scientist to show her "power" again. all she does is talk a lot and show interior of her ship wihch is just like large room with no furniture. then tells him about her fuel and propulsion. where is the "showing" part gone now? at least she speaks with some scientific sense. to show "more power" she goes "blurry" and evnetually fades into "another dimension". as always while they are still bickering about it the escaped prisoner exchanges his life for the kids. but that is only half the plan. he tries to take control of the ship, but fails.
Eventually the escaped prisoner saves the day by suiciding.

Story: 5/10. a lot of nonesense but at least it was striaght to the point, alien that wants men and dont liek to be attacked.
Acting: 6/10. Surprisingly good.
Sound: 3/10. Spaceship sounds were awful, the rest were ok.
Sci factor: 4/10. Some degree of science was present in here but that was not that much.
Lasting Appeal: 2/10.
Overall rating: 4/10.
