Drive in Sci-Fi: Stranger From Venus (1954) Strangerfromvenus1954
The size of this poster is 400x666, the devil picture!

People see spacecraft runing around. Then a girl driving alone during the night hears something and crashes into a rock. A strange man comes up to her and we get the credits on that freezes frame. who though this was a good idea must have been nuts. We dont see what happens and only find out that she is missing now from conversation of other people.
Then the same strnager enters a bar and asks for "something to drink". he seems öut of this earth". he claims to have no money and never pay taxes and other things that are unlikely. A local doctor soon gets around trying to "help" him and finds out he has n pulse. the verdict - either hes dead or the doc is drunk. The cops show up and want to arrest him for the girls disappearance, but the girl shows up in the bar and their attention is distracted. apparently her accident was quick-healed. She recognizes the guy and hel tells thme hes from Venus and that the car accident was acutally an accident and hes sorry for it. then he leaves to his room. The silly humans call in the army.
The next day the doctor asks him to tell more and he does. hes an astronaut, who conditioned his repository system to permit him to exist on earth. The military enclosed whole town and noone can get though in or out. The police chief and a chief of newspaper arrives. he proves not to be human by peaceful means. Eventually he tells that Humans problems have brought him here. He leaves this talk to his superiors however. He wants leaders of all nations in one place in two days for that. However humans are sceptical about their intentions. This starts to remind me of The Day Earth Stood Still to me, but smarter. He tells them few other things as well later on, but nothing that important thats worth mentioning. he does explain his ships engine, and i have suspicion army is going to use that against him.
The third day representatives of the country, all high positions come to visit the alien and speak with him. The alien is angry it is not every country representatives, and only the local one, that is unnamed. He wants to warn people about using nuclear weapons. The locals dont fully believe him, but are cautiuos. He wants to outlaw the "Wrongful use" of those and then help to use them peacefully.
And hes right, they make a devious plan to trap the craft with magnetic craft. that would mean retaliation from the mothership meaning the destruction of whole nation. They manage to avert this the last minute and save the day. the alien however dies form earthly atmosphere.

Story: 10/10. really sucks you in and i just felt like watching a wonderful movie.
Acting: 7/10. very good acting, even the oscar winning acress they managed to atrract. however he extra guys, like the army or the police officers were not that good.
Sound: 5/10. much better than usual, totally different soundtrack theme too.
Sci factor: 10/10. very well done in this department. their all theories stand true.
Lasting Appeal: 8/10. felt like watching a mix betweenthe day the earth stood still and The Man From Earth
Overall rating: 8.
