Drive-In Sci-Fi: Invaders from Mars (1953) Invadersfrommarsmoviepo

A scientist's, who happens to work at a secret plant, son sees a spaceship land. he tells his dad and the dad goes to investigate in the middle of the night. the thing kidnaps him and when cops come to search for him he kidnaps them too. the husband and cops come back but are definitely changed in personalities. there is also a scar in the back of their neck. the son and wife feels something is wring, but the wife acts like its ok. i guess slapping your kid in the 50s was everyday business. The husband brings wife to the alien ship to get "converted" too. they also kidnap the neighbours daughter. She sets their house on fire for some reason. burning some sort of... a box. no wait its a gas can. As the kid runs form one place to another hoping someone would believe him the town is slowly being turned into a group of controlled zombies.
The kid gets lucky and finds a psychiatrist who believes him. she takes him to a astrologer that tells them there is grass and life on mars much longer than on earth and that they are invading earth. he even provides pictures and even theories of how they can look like. he doesn't thing it should be reported to someone higher or anything though. He even has miniature models to show the kid till he finds the right alien. after a long talk about Martians and why they are attacking they notice that general is being kidnapped by aliens in same manner as well. they finally start to report it high up and regardless of how it sounds they send a lot of soldiers to help secure the facilities. And they send in TANKS on TRAINS.
They also instantly believe it and send few guys to find out what happened there. one sacrifices himself to find the location. well, unwillingly. while they try to figure out what to do one of the plants get destroyed and they also find that there is a metallic decide attacked to their skulls that is controlling the people afterall. and that after its purpose is serves it kills them instantly. they chase all around for the other people that were kidnapped but the kid and doctor gets kidnapped by mutants, or rather, men in green clothes. they perform some sort of exploding thing inside a cave and make a run for it. they also run very weirdly. eventually the military get in and stat shooting their way in. eventually they make the spaceship explode into bits and save the day.

Story: 6/10. it was ok story for this type of movie.
Acting: 5/10. pretty good, especially the kids part.
Sound: 2/10. the usual dread.
Sci factor: 4/10. as much as i hate to say it they managed to pull it off here.
Lasting Appeal: 2/10. not very memorable. could be biased depending on my headache today (story weather does that).
Overall rating: 4/10.
