Invaders From Mars (1986) Invaders_From_Mars_EdelCIN22032

This is a remake of a movie i have reviewed earlier.
We start of with Extremely long title sequence that is probably done in 3d judging from the way it looks. We start off the same, by a kid who is a son of a astrologer looking in the sky. they put him to bed but he once again notices a spaceship landing at the end of the fence. this time however the spaceship look cool. The father goes to investigate and turns into a zombie. This time he returns before police is called and isnt an obvious angry zombie. The boy goes to school, gets in trouble with teacher that appears to be slightly retarded and comes home early only to find the house completely empty. His mom and him calls the police when the father shows up late though, so thats how the officers get grabbed in this. more and more zombies are showing up though. the kid pretty much escapes the parents into school the other day and starts to realize whats happening. the realizing part in this one is much longer which is a good thing because it brings some tension. the teacher eating a frog helps to account that.
He tells the story to the local nurse in school. this kid is a much worse actor than the original one though. so they cut out the whole scene when he tells her. he once again escapes the school. He follows the teacher back to the caves near his house. Wait, caves, it used to be under sand, now its large cave tunnels that the thing landed in. and it is quite a smalls ship for that sort of thing. We see some aliens.... dancing... around a throne with brain in a stick. it can also speak. He meets the nurse in the forest, who casionally knew where he was, and thne they drive to the caves to search for it. They find nothing and she stops believing. But then they just happen to see two men going to search for something in the area. And they get sucked into sand, thats more like it.
They run in search for help till they get to a general sent out to protect a base around here and search for UFO crash. they tell the story and he eventually believes him, though not without a doubt. As they go after the infected peopel they start to die. the implants kill them. then cue the propaganda army ftw sequence about "green berets have no problems about killing martians" and stuff like that. they go in the caves, shoot some drones, and the kid with nurse gets sucked inside by the sandpit. The soldiesrs go in rescue and have to shoot oen of thier own thats bieng controlled and stuff like that. the usual moral dilema of the 80s movies. We see a lot of shooting, a spacecraft taking off, an alien mastermind escaping. its all there. The soldiers dialogue is great. "come on beat it", "dragon, fire!" Eventually they figure out a way to blow a hole up and escape the cave.
Turns out, he wakes up from a dream and that was jsut a image of things to come, a spaceship lands again....

A 7/10 from me. It was fun to watch.
