Drive-In Sci-Fi: Fire Maidens From Outer Space (1956)

America and England united decide to set up to the 13th moon of Jupiter. Nothing can go wrong right? I should mention that this is an old VHS tape and quality of both video and audio is terrible. i guess noone bothered to release it on dvd. They call the expedition via phone. nice. The expedition is in meteor storm: they turn off their defences, get hit, go on emergency power then all just stare out of the window and smile. Oh and they do live. When we get there are are told there is life on 13th moon but none on others. how typical :0 They get contacted by people from the planet and told to land on south pole, in a forest. The aliens then communicate with them via Morse code. Hey, Morse was an alien. They go exploring and find a statue of something. the video is too bad to see. They also find a woman being exploited by some monster. What they do is shoot the monster (he doesn't die just runs away). The woman has all the clothes and stuff like that. they managed to evolve exactly same as humans somehow. The place has electricity, pictures, ect. A old gentlemen meet them and tell them they are in whats left of "new atlantis". They are told that the city is dieing, and that the creature must be destroyed yet it is indestructible. The old man has a lot of daughters. a lot of young daughters. And they all try to seduce the guys. supposedly they are descendants of Aphrodite.
And they manage, they drug the guys and starts seducing.
Next morning the girl tells the ships captaip that Prossus keeps everyone in New Atlantis prisoners and decides who lives or dies. Its tim to escape the newly found place then.The next afternoon the crew finally go to search for the two missing men. About time. they figure out that the Atlantis cant be broken into so they decide to dig under the wall. meanwhile we have no suicess in making our hero get out.
Eventually they get in, free the girls, kills the monster, kills the ruler, takes over. Takes a girl, promises to send met for "husbands" and leaves the planet. thats one pro-scientist movie if i saw one.

Story: 4/10. Ok i guess. it had the basic plot so it worked more or less.
Acting: 1/10. smiling at the killer asteroids, yay.
Sound: 3/10. operas, lots of operas, but the god part is it wasnt that overused music track once agian.
Sci factor: 2/10. well we had a reasonable attempt at showing a long flight and atlantis technology wasn't that out of whack. thats about it.
Lasting Appeal: 4/10. Lets all go a planet where every girl would fight for a husband.
Overall rating: 3/10.
