Drive in Sci-Fi: Teenagers From Outer Space (1959) Teenagersfromouterspace

What a title, ech? well the movie is even crazier. We start seriously however, with two astronomers discussing about alien life. then a wierd syringe-drill type of item drops from the sky and on top we are left with a saucer. the bottom part totaly digs into the ground. is that xonvienient for space travel? the first person to meet the ship, and isntantly attack it, is a local dog. he gets phased soon and we see only bones left of him. the suits of aliens look a whole lot like plane pilot suits, with same helmets and all. first thng they do when they get out is.... what else... smell earth. isnt that obviuos. aliens orm other planet come here for the smell of dust.
Tjhey quickly unpack their machinery that look extremery identical to those of human measuring stuff. infact it is same thing. however once they start speaking they seem to have some quantum math there. 2.08.3 is actually one number. yes they manadge to put 2 commas in one number. the aliens however are divided. some want to destroy earth and make it a breeding place for some creatures. other want to leave the planet for there is life. they go argue about how good or bad their "supreme race" is. The baddies overpower the poor guy and release the gargons, which is just a large lobster.
The gargon doesnt seems to like the hidrogen compound in the air. it dies so they decide to leave. The good guy escapes. but the gargon returns to life adapted to hidrogen rich air. so they decide to report back it will survive. the orders are to catch the son, dead or alive, and return to base to bring more gargons around.
The good guy gets in contact with humans. he finds the owner of the dog, adapting to human people around. however they offer him a room and since he stays silent they rent it to him. strange people. meanwhile the evil boys chasing him force human to teach them how to drive. Shocked He then of course steals the car. oh and he kilsl the gas guy too after asking where the good guy went.
The good guy goes swimming with the dog owner who still doesnt know her dog is missing. eventualyl she finds out and asks the guy to take her to where it happened. meanwhile the bad guy asks the grandpa at the dog owners house where is derek. he doesnt kill him even though his orders were to do kill him. he goes to the house where they went swimiming and interogates the owner. it doesnt tell him anything so he kills her. the good uys come home to change and goes to professor but not without leaving a note where they are going.
The bad guy comes back to interogate the old man once agian and he once agian gives the guy info of their whereabouts. whatever happened to not talking to strangers? oh well back in those days people didnt lock thier homes either so i guess it was appropriate. the bad guy gets here first and kills the professor, looks like hes catching on. he then escapes though the window just as soon as Derek and the house owner comes to visit. the assitant freaks out of the bones of the professor.
the whole movie is a big cat and mosue game of the evil alien and the good alien helped by the granddaughter. to add to it the journalist is following the train of bones. the story however flows fluently, which is great.
eventually both good and bad guy arrives at police station at the same time. and a shotoout occurs. a disintegrator versus bullets. we know who wins. disintegratow is stronger obviously.
The bad guy gets hit, but he forces Derek and the girl to drive him to a doctor, meanwhile the police officers are left standing confused, thy dont really care that 2 officers died. Doctor is also forced to help him. but he outsmarts the guy and gets him unconciuos. they leave to call the police. ALL leave. stupid. the nurse cones in and revives him, so he escapes. you go nurse. They go to the palce they land nearby and palced the creature in. meanwhile the creature is already killing the reported who went there some way. the guy escapes but evil alien chases. even a car chase scene on the mountains is in here. this is one action sci-fi if i saw one.
He fails to drive good and crashes, so police capture it alive, meanwhile creature escapes so they got a mosnter on the loose now too. Derek and the girl meanwhile has a moment of "who are you" and he telsl a sad story about his world. but it doent last long as the giant lobster attacks. they find a gun but instead of shooting the lobster they run. didnt he said that the weapon was the only way to stop the lobster, so why not shoot it? as they run away it seems to be broken.
he fixes it by hooking it to a power line, it must have just been out of juice then. he kills the lobster on a string, but more aliens return. Derek turns psycho and forces the journalist to go with him. that was in unexpected turn. he comes and meets his father, then enters the only spaceship so far landed and direct the spaceships that are coming. he tells them to crash-land on the planet at raming speed. they kill all the aliens and themselves in the process. earth is ocne again saved.

Story: 9/10. surprisingly good and fluent.
Acting: 8/10. very good for most of the movie.
Sound: 6/10. quite good compared to others.
Sci factor: 6/10. altrough the whole gorgon lobster and disintegrator thing wasnt the best idea, it still did have some scinetific knowledge behind it.
Lasting Appeal: 8/10. this is one of the more fun 50s sci-fi movies, way up there in my list.
Overall rating: 7/10.
