Drive in Sci-Fi: IT Came from outer space (1953)

Right from the start you can see that quality is much better than other movies of its time. you even get a camera behind and inside fireplace. A romantic couple sees a ball of fire crash into nevada desert. They think its a huge meteor. Lucky for them they were looking at stars and have a telescope, so they use it to look at the crash. apparently it crashed into old celsium(?) mine. But my oh my, its not a meteor but a spaceship. These people don't see it though because it has a technology to become invisible. Now THATS what i call high tech alien. Obviously they go check it out, or well, they get a friend with helicopter to fly them there and only the guy goes in. He finds the spaceship that is hidden under some rocks. Man walking in causes a crater avalanche and the ship gets burried inder the endless pile of rocks. the guy gets out though. He goes out and calls it a ship. why a ship. ships swim in sea. aircrafts fly. so why it is that aliens dont use aircrafts, they use ships. They call their own helicopter a "ship" too, wow. Noone believes him.
Police comes and they agree not to tell them about it. but he tells anyway. Police doesn't believe anyway.
Food for though, why does most of those monster movies happen in small towns in 50s and 60s while in 00s and 2010s they move to big cities. I guess the answer is more simple than one would think - budged. they didn't had it to make it in big cities before. There is a valley in america that had over 20 sci-fi movies filmed at it. must have looked good.
On their way home they notice a huge floating EYE but it dissipaters as soon as they press the breaks. It goes invisible, we even see the car from the eyes point. They go out to look at the woman screams like she is being butchered form seeing a tree.
Next day archaeologist comes to site and finds no radiation, thus deducts there is no spacecraft. like aliens must certainly make radiation right?
They leave to escape from the press. On the radio even army ridicules him. They stop in same spot that they saw an EYE before. Then the guy speaks about desert being alive and a killer and shows many signs of schizophrenia. no wonder they thought he was mad. They keep riding and meet a telephone wire mechanics fixing wires. they hear strange sounds on the lines but they dont know what it is. They split ways and you are left with a feeling of this movie being really creepy. The electricians sees the eye as well and this time gets attacked by it. They meet the main heroes again and it is clear that they are being possessed by something. Or not. Its not possessed, they merely made a copy and the real people are merely being held up. They call police in and go to the clone but they find nothing. John finds the clones in the town and confronts them and they explain that they need time and secrecy. he believes them.
Meanwhile the eyes clone more people, news continue to ridicule him. until police comes by and asks them to come because others come up with same stories. Then we find aliens take Elan - the hero girl. so the guy and police captain goes searching fr her in the desert, alone. He finds the mine and talks the alien into showing himself in order to trust his tale that he simple accidentally crash-landed on earth. The alien looks like a giant head with legs and long hair. He is terrified but ends up trusting them after all. The conversation with cop proves that the aliens are right, people kill what they dont understand.
Back in town the captain is idiot enough to tell about it to his deputy. they then discuss statistical probability of people committing crimes and heat. well it is true that hot areas do get much more conflict, just look at the Arabian parts, or really anywhere ear equator.
The police captain finally breaks and decide to roadblock the aliens. instead of stopping it they shoot him. truck burst into flames and there is no sign of aliens. Our hero goes to warn the aliens of impending danger. Aliens attack him and in self defence he figures out that the human clones of aliens are vulnerable. The aliens have a weapon that can destroy whole earth, but our hero talks them into not using it and letting everyone go, and this way maybe they will be able to stop the mob coming for them. As soon as everyone clears out the mine entrance gets blown up so others wont enter.
Aliens repair their ship and go back on their journey into space.

Story: 8/10. very good story, but no wonder, it was based on an actual book.
Acting: 9/10. great acting form the team. they certainly did the stars team there.
Sound: 6/10. great, compared to the rest of movies in those times.
Sci factor: 6/10. there wasn't much of it, instead it concentrated on the characters, but it was fine.
Lasting Appeal: 7/10. finally a movie where humans and aliens are portrayed with changing characters and its not just "oh no evul aliens lets blast first ask questions later"
Overall rating: 7/10.
