Drive-in Sci-Fi: It - The Terror from Beyond Space (1958) Ittheterrorfrombeyondsp

This is often regarded as an early version of Alien. We open with narrator of mars and saceship that went there, and met death. Rescue ship came, found a sole survivor in the spaceship - commander. Everyone else were dead - murdered. As the rescue ship leaves the fun starts. Everyone thinks the cpatain killed everyone to survive (air, food, water) and noone believes it was a monster. we see all the drama about the woman scientist trying to act nice to him, captains right-hand man trying to get his confession. however it is the girl that he confess to - they get attacked in sandstorm on mars by some "thing" and everyone but him dies before he makes it back to his ship. We also see that there is some sort of "creature" in the rescue ship, hitchhiking his way to earth.
Soon people start going missing. As they search they find packs of cigarettes. did they smoke inside spaceship? They start finding dead bodies hidden in "sea compartment". Next one they find alive but mutilated. apperently somone sucked all life out of him. the mosnter is nearby though and it attacks the poor guy that found him. he tries to shoot him (pistols on spaceship too?) but we dot know if it works. they seal the hatch and thne jut stand, backs to it. then they find granades (!) and decide to blow him up inside duckts. apperently two woman who feels very much like stuardessen in plane runs away because they tell them to. they use not one, no two but 8 grandes in thier trap. that sohuld blow tiher ship to bits. they also seems to have a huge arsenal of ak 47 kalasnikovs, pistols, revolvers and m4s. wow thats some heavy artilery exploration spaceship to mars.
They dont stay for the trpa though, jt go to command, and leave huns and granades on the table. well its true that its no point carrying guns whne the trpa will blow the ship to bits, they could have at laest done it for the heck of it. They listen to explosion when mosnter that looks like human with burns and 3 fingers escapes wents. actually granades explode 3 times. the monster and especially the ship is in no damage whatsoever. great hollywood physics. the mosnter then quicly grows the tail and they try to shoot him agian with pistol (they have assault rifles but they still only use 1 pistol). as that fails they try gas granades. how many weapons do they actually have on that ship? IT would appear though that the mosnter only stays on lower levels and on higher ones they are safe. he doesnt try to chase them or something evne thoug they keep hatch open for minutes.
Eventually the mosnter breakes though the hatch and gets them all scared. they quicly make up a plan to go around it. then we get extremely long eerie space walk scene whne they are walking sideways on the spaceship. their plan is to electrocute it. that seems to be repeating mistake peopel do in such movies. Neither electricity nor fire seems to work agians IT either. though light can blind him. also the guy who tries to burn the guy says he cant get otu beucase his neck is broken. but he can still move around and torch the mosnter and whatnot. nice. Then they decide to use radiation from reactor to kill it. apperently spaceships are run by atomic reactors. That doesnt seem to stop the monster and he kills again. oh my god they have a bazooka now. what more can they pull it. Eventually they space it, someting they should have done way before. thier oxygen drops to 0 though. They finish the rest of the flight in spacesuits.

Story: 4/10. simple. start worked, but later on it went donwhill fast.
Acting: 4/10. that was ok i guess.
Sound: 1/10. back to the usual crap music for all occasions.
Sci factor: 0/10. once again zero science.
Lasting Appeal: 2/10. another mosnter attacks group of people scenario. excelt this time it happens in a spaceshio.
Overall rating: 2/10.
