Drive-In Sci-Fi: I Married a Monster From Outer Space (1958) Imarriedamonsterfromout

So it all starts with alien kinapping a guy that is about to marry and taking his form. actually he taps the guy on the shoulder then starts flashing till the guy falls back in epilepsy. They do get married and alien is trying to figure a way to live with her. she lives whole year with him till she figures out hes not normal, what a dumb woman. he leaves every night, he kills the dog, he has no emotions whatsoever (actor doesnt have to act, its his natural state to be emotionless so it works), she cant have children, doctor tells her its not her, and it still takes her so long to figure it out. the sound and lips dont match most of the time and sometimes you see lips moving but there is no voice.
Eventually she figures out something is wrong and decides to followe him during the night, but it was clearly filmed in the daytime judging from the light and sun reflecting on windows. we even see birds cruising on the grass and shadows. they could have atleast waited for evening. She follows him back to the ship and seees the epiletic alien leave the body and go inside, scared she runs back to town and tries to tell people in bar about it. As the barman thinks shes drunk she goes to police, but police just drops her at a psychiatrist. psychiatrist tells her to go home and spy on aliens! apperently the psychiatrist are one of them.
Her friend manadges to marry another alien aswell. what, is the whole town full of aliens? Apperently so. Thanks to a swimming accident and a doctor who carries a oxygen sprayer in a bag we find out that aliens can be killed by feeding too much oxygen to them. its not like there is any oxygen in the air right?
As she tries to tell everyone about it noone listens to her (again), the phone lines are cut, the postman is alien too and the roads are closed. the town has manadged to isolate itself. that would mean they had to take over whole town, man those aliens are fast.
She confronts her husband and the husband tells her the whole truth. apperently only male aliens survived and came to earth to make babies! But they also inherited huma nemotions so the whole body snatching thing is ok then. Then she once again comes to the same psychiatrist that didnt believe her the first two times. come on how stupid must she be.
This time a group of humans set out to destry the spaceship. why? who knows. they already know how to kill aliens, so why not do that? As they figure aliens are immune to bullets they let the dogs at them, apperently that is much more effective. Infact it kills the alien! the alien dissapears and then explodes. no need for burials yay. They find the real bodies suspended floating around. apperently disconencting them kills the alien! Now the aliens in trouble. The aliens decide to boot it and go to another galaxy. the spaceship self-destructs though.

Story: 7/10. well for this kind of movie the story really was quite well made. Beside the woman being the only woman in the whole town aware (possibly due to lack of logic in her decisions she wasnt affected by the logical thiking alliens).
Acting: 5/10. As for acting emotionless people - they suceeded. the rest - didnt.
Sound: 2/10. The sound was off the lips movement so thats a moot. the bad music is bad along with terribe sound effects, like gass breaking twice when smashed.
Sci factor: 4/10. Altrough they try to put some logic behind the whole takeover and mate thing it is still very unclear as how is anything done/possible
Lasting Appeal: 5/10. Just like body snatchers this should be remmebered as one of the movies where aliens take bodies over, except it isnt that good.
Overall rating: 5/10.
