Drive in Sci-Fi: Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (1977)

the final part in Sinbad trilogy, the eye of the tiger. Cue the music. Sinbad crew is returning home to some large castle-like city. They joke about it and generally act like jerks. It seems that with every movie the crew of Sinbad becomes more and more assholes. But they cant enter the city, plague is attacking the city. But Sinbad wants to enter anyway. But he must wait till the sun rises (they arrived at night). Why would this change the plague effect is beyond me. maybe its a night plague, only transferable at night hehe.
As they camp in the merchants tent they are attacked by a black mage (typical) that creates some devil like creatures and attacks sinbad. The merchant set them up. Typically sinbad and his crew beats the shit out of them and escapes (because apparently they are immortal creatures).
During the day they meet with the princess. They ask for Sinbads help, and he knows a solution. Malantias, a crazy wizard, living on some remote island, may know how to fix the plague. For this reward Sinbad asks for pricess hand and the king instantly agrees. They also meet the woman who has caused the plague, but she is part of royal family and therefore untouchable. To stop Sinbad they create a bull made of gold with a mechanic heart and call it "minetan". i think somone misspelled "minotaur". Because he looks exaly the same, exept that its made of gold.
They travel on thier ship and minotaur with the evil witch is traveling on her boat. a golden bull sailor, thats a rare sight.
They find a deserted city on some island. Supposdly locals detroyed themselves because "They became to civilized". Then they meet a young woman who they talk into leading them to melantias. Turns out she is the daughter of Melantias and speaks to him telepathically. He also seems to be able to read minds so therefore he already knows why they came here. He tells them that there is a valley in the artic region that has people and power that knows how to get there. However the old man refuses to go. After a sucesfull experiment (his equipment exploded) he agrees to go however. really crazy this man is.
They leave to the artic ocean. And the evil witch follows. She keeps rambling about "i must know what they plan to do" but cant find them. She turns into a seagul to find out. They capture her in a miniature form and interogate her. Over his own insolence he creates a huge bee and allows the woman to escape. Silly old man. The transformation liquid is not enough however and the witch converts back without 1 foot. this is the price you pay for being stupid. Theyeventually reach the arctic and the ship is sort of frozen over. they go though ice, with a wooden boat. this is not working, clearly. they do get stuck on ice and then travel on foot. Then they are attacked by a giant..... vaulrus. what the hell. They arent even agressive to begin with.
They find the oasis in arctic and then we se a famous scene of princess and mages daughter lieing completely naked on rocks and being attacked by a giant with a horn on his head. They cant speak with him but they make a deal of peace by showing him naked females saying "friends". now who wouldnt lower their club for that.
They eventually find what thier looking for with the help of the local beast. The witch is nto far behind. they enter the area as well, bu their bull gets damaged.
They meet the evil witch here and fight her. the guardian of the shrine awakes and its a prehistoric lion. I dont remember its exactl name now, but it looks like a creature that really existed. They manage to convert the prince back to human however. and the horned local helps them to fend off the guardian so they can escape. They crown the real king and god guys win again.



Story: 6/10. not as good as previuos ones.
Acting: 6/10. acting was decent.
Sound: 3/10. typically bad.
Sci factor: 3/10. magic and more magic and then some more crazy stuff.
Lasting Appeal: 6/10. some things you dont see every day, but nothing too impressive.
Overall rating: 5.
