This is a Earth VS The Spider (1958) remake which i have reviewed earlier.
the movie begins with.... a breakfast sequence. a very long casual breakfast sequence. As he leaves the house he meets with new neighbour girl that is a nurse and gets harassed by two jerks that should be shot. Then he goes to work and tells it all to his co-worker, hes a security guard it appears. We at least get some character background so it seems to work much more on backstory than the original. the building he guards is actually a lab where they test spiders. And at the end of work the lab gets attacked by masked people, this is all too convenient. the cops come and come in shooting "take no prisoners". how can they do THAT. the guy gets blamed for everything and he decides to go and inject himself with experimental serum from the lab.... thats one wierd decision. Next thing we know he is in a bath of ice and the alarm is ringing for 16 hours. So the nurse decides to investigate. hes all up so they chat a bt and hse leaves. during the night when she comes home shes attacked by someone trying to rape her, right at the time the guy comes home, he starts to get superpowers right at this time and throws the guy all across the hallway. thne he jumps out of the window and escapes not even saying "your welcome" to his neighbour. he realizes he keeps getting spider powers and tries to save people but they turn against him. he ends up killing innocent person and kidnapping a cop. He also decides to feed on the jerks that harassed him before t not get insane. like hes not insane for that already.
Meanwhile the detective searches for the new killer and gets close to catching the guy. meanwhile the mutation makes him loose his new girlfriend. The guy begins to tun into spider more and more and therefore he gets unpredictable. he even attacks his own girlfriend. eventually he talks a detective into shooting him and dies, so the detective actually kills this savage spiderman. not like the original, but intresting nevertheless.
Story: 7/10. was rather interested in this one.
Acting: 3/10. this wasnt great but its a b-movie.
Sound: 6/10. nothing spectacular but it works.
Sci factor: 7/10. they played it safe and didnt include much of science in it but what was there was somewhat sound.
Lasting Appeal: 8/10. this is extraordinary spider movie.
Overall rating: 6/10.
