Drive-In Sci-Fi: The Human Duplicators (1965) Thehumanduplicatorsmovi

Alien comes to duplicate humans and make a zombie race. Where did we saw this before, oh right The Space Children (1958), Invaders From Mars (1953), The Day Mars Invaded Earth (1963) and Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), as well as similar themes can be seen in The Mysterians (1957) and Not Of This Earth (1957). So yeah, this premise is definitely fresh.
Anyway, an alien is sent to earth to conquer it and make a colony. He arrives pretending to be human (or was that his normal look) and arrives at some doctors home, where he is trying to make an android. He offers his help, wait, wasn't he suppose to conquer the planet, not help its science?
People also start turning up dead and police is sent to investigate. Those people seem to be important scientists. They wonder if it could be russian or chineese espionage. This is the cold war era still. The guy on investigation is named Glenn Martin, almost a martian we got here. He speaks about the missing people with the doctor that the alien is helping, and he doesnt get much, but he finds their pictures on his desk, so he got himself a suspect. No rash action yet though and so he is asked out.
Then two agents go on a date (its a man and a woman) in a bar called "Gay 90's". Its ironic in multiple ways (90s being the time gays actually went out of the closets in america) but back then word "gay" meant "happy" so it was a fine name for a bar.
They discuss that the doctor is creating an "Android" and that such could infiltrate the society and create a hostile takeover (terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles anyone?).
The guy goes spying on the doctor and finds a lot of dead bodies in basement. But it allears they are made of porcelain. So its not really dead bodies, but he gets so afraid as if hes seen a host. Eventually he wanders into a lab where he sees the doctors experiment, turning one of the porcelain women into 2. this is duplication all right, but has nothing to do with androids. One of the assistents die and it turns out it is a porcelain people. but everyone else calls them androids.
Thet capture and duplicate the secret agent. Now its working for them. The alien falls in love with the doctors niece however, and as he refuses to duplicate her into an android, the androids revolt and take him hostage. He tries to be independent instead of a robot and they break into a large fight. The alien and humans win. The alien says he is leaving the planet and goes away, and they let him.

Story: 7/10. It was simple but it worked.
Acting: 2/10. The actors all looked bored while filmed.
Sound: 3/10. pretty bad, and very bad considering the date.
Sci factor: 5/10. porcelain people for androids. aliens teleporting into and out of earth. beside that, there really was not much to notice.
Lasting Appeal: 1/10. Nothing we havent seen before, better.
Overall rating: 4/10
