Thi one has a more innovative title screen, even if it was cartoonish. a pleasant change from things like ducks being filmed in a bucket of water....
Ok, apperently my versions sound stream is around 1 minute behind so the experience is bellow perfect. well we have to be glad this movie still exists after 72 years anyway.
Anyway, Groucho is once again a big boss around, this time a manadger, and Zeppo this time is a broke actor that wants a job. (apperently IMDB shows the whole group as "the marx brothers" and then the three brothers save for zeoppo as cast so one could say hes uncredited.) Chico soon shows up with a moose head. So does Harpo with some other intresting tools. Apperently Grouchos manadgement skills arent that great and hes in lots of debt.
They put fake measles in zeppo to keep the room and they believe it. the debitor then swears in all his mighty "jumping butterballs". somehow that sounded very funny. its always intresting how they used to use word "jumping" in all swear words back then. "jumping catfish" "jumping fireballs" and so on. did they hated jumping so much?
Room services comes in and they tell him the guy is sick with tapeworm and must have food. tapeworm, hehe, they could ahve came up with a better disease. he buys it whne they promise him a hollywood contract.... even back then people would ahve sold thier mothers to be in the movies.
Even more debetors come in from agency "we never sleep" and they end up making crack joles about it. evnetually they tell him that the guy went nuts and was taken away to mad house. then all hell breakes loose when the man who hired Groucho meets the debitors and turkey flies in the window causing havoc. evnetually big name makes it all clear and they get best room in hotel. or not, the guy lied ans as soon as he got out he canceled all deals. but they still go though with it on bounced checks and spends a lot of money. on the opening night they find the whole thing out and lock them in. they plot a plan and pretend to comit suicide to stop the manadger from calling the cops and they manadge to break them anadgers heart too. evnetually the play works out and everyones happy.
My rating: 7/10. thise one seems to be slacking some, but there was no musical numbers so thats a plus.
and as always, a link because the legends live on even after copyright retirement.
