And thats the only way to travel, in barrels. The four Marx brothers this time ends up in a luxiry ship, traveling in barrels. and they go tell the captain how to run the ship. then end up locking him up and and turning the ship into their playground. This time it is more abbot and costello style of comedy than the first one. Groucho and Harpo gets most of screentime this time and thet deiver very well. you can see an improvement since the cocoanut.
There also seems to be some unhappy marriadge criminal plot which Groucho happens to get in the middle of. the lack of singing disturbance helps to keep the movie roling though there are some musical induendos, however they are often played by the Merx brothrs themself and can be easily put inside the commedy, and it seems that the stovies plot seems to continue fluently this time. the criminal ends up hiring two of the stoogies and the other one hires the other two, both totally by accident. they soon start to make plots to sell eachother out.
all 4 fellas try to get out of the boat with same passport of a singer. eventually they make the out of the boat using fainted people as excuse. why did they faint in the first place we dont know. they hitch a ride on the side of a car to some bonquet of sorts. they seem to be very lucky (or unlucky) to run into their old criminal bosses and once again they are asking thme to help them. there is also a love story between one of the bsses daughter and Zeppo but it is very background thing.
They kidnap the daughter and whole party goes searhing for her. dames and everything. Marx brothers get there first of course. and the fight they end up having is such mess but hilariuos at the same time.
Veridict: 7,5/10. Improvement over the last one. they got rid of the ugly singing/dancing and thej okes were just as fun.
and as always, the youtube version for public domain is immune to lobysm.
