Drive in Sci-Fi: Battle Of The Worlds (1961)

An asteroid called "the outsider" has entered the solar system and its heading towards the earth. Humans try to stop it but they fail. The asteroid goes into orbit around earth. Then a saucer comes out of the asteroid and kills the space explorers in extremely cheesy faction. Then a old professor tells the world how he is the only one that can save the world and other crap. the conversation really drags. they reject his proposal and go to war. They manage to hit one of the "flying discs". it hits the earth and they put manpwoer to recover it. Inside of it they find the driver - a glowing cylinder.
During this time earth gets into chaos. the outsider has put weather into haitus.
The scientist manages to invent a way to destroy the flying discs. He warns that there may be trouble about destroying the new satellite. So they decide to send him to the place to investigate. supposedly he never leaves the place so this is a big challenge for everyone. They find a underground base in the asteroid full of red tubes. They also see a spider-like creatures that are similar to the tubes. they are dead according to scientist. the scientist goes on a rage about how those are creatures from a dieing world coming with hope and being met with weapons. many things he could not have known in any way. The professor goes to find the secrets while others are preparing to destroy the place. he gets mad over the knowledge.
They manage to save him and drag him to the ship. They are not back yet but the missiles to destroy it are already coming. he dies and we end a movie "if they opened up his chest we would find a formula where the heart should have been". well good, he obviously were smarter than anyone else in the movie.

Story: 5/10. somewhat ok plot dragger.
Acting: 2/10. very bad in this department.
Sound: 4/10. they tried it, but still not good enough.
Sci factor: 4/10. cant complain much there, other than that all inventions were pulled out of the ass.
Lasting Appeal: 0/10. not really memorable movie.
